Pastor’s September Message
Dear Friends and Family of HBC,
This month I am going to keep my message simple. I sense that I’m supposed to share with you what’s on my heart without a lot of fluff and “sugar coating”.
So here it is and straight to the point:
“It’s time to come back”
I don’t know who needs to hear those words. That’s between you and God. I’m just the messenger. It’s time to come back.
Perhaps this will help you. We started 2022 with a series based on Season 1 of the popular show called “The Chosen”. I heard many positive comments about this series and have been asked if we will continue with Season 2. The answer is “Yes” and we will start Season 2 in September.
I think you will find it very helpful to watch each episode before the sermon.
Here are the various ways to watch the show:
(1) On your phone, go to the app store and search “The Chosen”. This is a free app you can download and you can begin watching it right away.
(2) You can also watch it by going to this website: https://watch.angelstudios.com/thechosen
(3) Visit YouTube.com and search for The Chosen Season 2. There you will find the episodes that the sermon will be based on each week.
(4) Purchase the DVD.
In one episode of this season Philip, a disciple of Jesus, is talking to his friend Nathanael about Jesus of Nazareth. Nathanael laughs and says “Nazareth?! Can anything good can come from Nazareth?” Philip simply but confidently answers “Come and see, come and see.”
It’s time to come back. Come and see, come and see.
